Lakey Peterson surfed very well and lost the closest heat of round 1, which was decided by 16 to 15,8 between her and Griffin Colapinto who lost to Kanoa and Tatiana Weston-Webb. Photo: WSL/Morris
Kirra Pinkerton had a performance to forget. She fell at the beginning of both waves she surfed. Photo: Kenny Morris/World Surf League
"On the left I can't do more than a six," Kelly said after losing in the semis trying two consecutive 360s. On the right he is one of the best, or the best in the pool he invented. Photo: WSL/Morris
