The following are 10 moments that took place on the final day of the JBay Open, the sixth stage of the CT that crowned Gabriel Medina and Carissa Moore as champions.

Carisa Moore was consistent, fluid and had what it takes to win at JBay throughout the event.
Veteran Ace Buchan has had a relatively poor year, with two 33s and two 17s, but his sharp backside at JBay made him shine and he finished the event in fifth.
Italo gave some good stabs to JBay's right hands and was the protagonist in a historic final with two goofy footers, something that obviously hadn't happened for more than 35 years (that Occy final in 84 was against Hans Heademan who is a regular).
Kanoa Igarashi is fifth in the rankings and has a mathematical chance of taking the lead at any moment. On the other hand, he has made a small renaissance of floaters on the tour (he won at Keramas doing many and at JBay he also abused the maneuver).
Caroline Marks is simply impressive, 17 years old, semi-finalist in JBay and fifth in the world.
Sebastian Zietz did not beat Filipe Toledo in the quarterfinals because the Brazilian Filipe Toledo found a good forehand with 1:52 left. He fell on the last move but the judges gave him 8,50 anyway.
Lakey Peterson has the surfing skills of a champion, but she lacks the skill at key moments. She finished second in a final in which she lacked magic.
Historic Jeffreys Bay performed epically for the final day of this year's event.
