Australian Callum Robson was one of the highlights of the free surfing sessions prior to the start of the event, which took place on medium and small waves.

He combined several good waves, closing with a blow tail to reverse, as shown in this video posted by filmmaker Alex Hayes a few hours ago.

The practice sessions did Robson good, and he made it to the quarterfinals where he met one of the most in-form surfers at the event: Filipe Toledo.
