A 15-year-old boy named Mani Hart-Deville died last Saturday after being attacked by a shark while surfing at Wilson's Headland in Wooli, a small town in New South Wales. It was the second fatal attack in the state in a week, Stab reported, based on a report by the Sydney Morning Herald.

According to witnesses, the attack left him with deep wounds on his legs and that when he cried for help, another surfer fought with the great white shark that had injured him.

Attempts were made on the beach to save him, but it was too late.

"I spoke to one of the surfers and he basically said he was in the water and a very large great white shark came up and bit him and the boy was screaming. The surfer said the shark then came up and attacked again. And another brave surfer tried to get the shark off and pulled the young man out of the water," Ms Dobra told Nine News.

The beaches in the area were later closed.

The attack took place a month after that of Rob Pedretti, 60, which took place in Kingscliff about 200 kilometres inside the state of New South Wales.
