The WSL confirmed what a source had told DUKE was a plan for 2026Starting this year, players will be able to compete in an international QS 6000 event and carry that score over to the regional ranking, the AOS Mídia website reported, based on the rulebook.

They will only be able to do so at an event that has that category.

“Regional QS surfers can contribute a result from an INTL QS6000 event to count towards their regional QS ranking,” is the literal rule that was added to the rulebook.

According to information obtained by DUKE in late October 2025, there will only be one international QS 6000 event per region. The selection criteria were not disclosed.

This gradually returns to the old system where regional classification did not exist, it was unified, and points were collected at different events around the world.
