A second tour of one of the most classic surfing trips in the history of surfing

Adrián Kojín and his Pan-American Soul are going for a second round, 35 years later

Journalist and adventurer Adrián Kojin once again set out to repeat one of the most dreamed-of, feared and desired journeys of a surfer: Traveling from the United States to South America by land, stopping to surf the best waves in the region.

In 1987, during one of the most turbulent times in the history of Latin America, Adrián made this journey on a motorcycle, with a surfboard strapped to him, few pesos, a lot of adventurous spirit and a great desire to surf.

It was one of the most inspiring journeys in the history of surfing, alongside what Kevin Naughton and Craig Peterson did in Africa, or Gerry Lopez in Indo, to mention just a few examples.

What Adrian did in 87 was either partially repeated or simply imitated; he was the first to surf the main Pan American spots in a single trip.

That book he published after the journey that took him across and surfing 14 countries is one of the most exciting adventures that anyone can do sitting at home putting letters together. It is a book that you devour, that you feel from letter to letter; one of those that you don't want to fall asleep to keep reading.

It turns out that Adrian is so passionate about his trip that he wanted to do it again and is raising money to repeat it, 35 years later.

He will do it with a used mini van this time and with an electric bike to access the most remote places.

The main objective? To enjoy and compare the realities of each country 35 years later.

WE ARE GOING TO INTERVIEW ADRIÁN THIS FRIDAY ON DUKE.
