A magical event in cold water Indonesia

Yesterday a historic Rip Curl Pro Search Rutas del Caleuche concluded, on Isla Grande de Chiloé, where waves abound in a cold and wild climate. The winner was Nicolás Vargas and the winner was everyone who enjoyed the power of such a magical and unspoiled place.

Below is a sample of the magic that was experienced on the Ruta del Caleuche yesterday.

Herold surfed a good heat in round 1 but failed to make it through
Paulo Moura's surfing was impeccable until he couldn't find the waves in the final, but he arrived as the favorite.

Arika Alvarez had a tough time in the morning warm-up session, but bounced back in round 1 by doing turns like this one. She said, though, that her experience of taking a big set to the head shaped her for the rest of the day.
Iturria was a great highlight in the tournament and he narrowly missed out on winning. It seemed like he was going to take it but the judges said otherwise.

Joaquín del Castillo surfed very well and if he found the right ones he could have won the championship. He finished third.
Moura was in tune with the waves until the final came and he didn't find much.
It was such a magical event.
