A solid photo gallery from today in Puerto Escondido

The sea became big in Zicatela and the tubazos were at the order

Presented by: Pancho Villas. All photos: ALAS/Pancho Villas. On the cover: Valiente, as yet unidentified, in one of the biggest waves of the day.

It is true that there are waves in Puerto Escondido all year round, but in November, with such a solid sea, it is not so common, at least that is what the locals say.

On the third day of ALAS in Puerto Escondido there was no shortage of waves, tubes, moments of tension, ugly wipeouts, broken boards and the running of lifeguards who went to assist one or another.

There were perfect scores and series that were decided by 1,10 versus zero points, there were no shows and there were also hard-fought battles with several tubes by the two surfers in the series.

There was also a heavy free surfing session that at times bordered on championship-like.

Below is a solid photo gallery of a historic day on the Latin circuit.

Unidentified brave man dropping a bomb in Carmelitas, better known as Oscar's right, in honor of the legendary Oscar Moncada.
Kurt Rist is American but lives in Puerto Rico for most of the year and that was evident today. He had a very hard-fought series against Sebastián Correa.
Chilean youngster Vicente Díaz took one of the biggest sets of the day in the lead, split the board and with a score of 1,10 he still beat local Cesar Petroni who was unable to find waves. In the following set he was unable to beat Sasha Donnanno.
Duende Cross doing a maneuver that in any event would add five points, just for that maneuver, but in Puerto the judges paid it 1,8... They wanted to see tubes.
Jhony Corzo didn't have the best day of competition but in free surfing he pulled off a bomb like this one.
Same with Diego Cadena.
Cat Adrián García hitting a shot that gave him the ticket to the quarterfinals after beating Lucas Madrid.
There were moments of tension and the motorcycles had to be present in the line up.
Leon Glatzer entered at the worst moment of the sea but still managed to qualify based on a tube that closed him which added more than this maneuver that can be seen in the photo.
Leon Glatzer has a new coach.
Lucas Madrid gave Gato García a fight, but at the end of the series the Mexican found the bomb in the photo above.
Martín Passeri found this bomb at the beginning of the series and then...
This was a costly blow. Afterwards he was able to recover but ended up losing by a very, very narrow margin to Duende Cross.
Sasha Donnanno is one of six Mexicans who made it to the quarterfinals.
Sebastián Correa would have won most of the day's series with his more than 10 points that he added in his series, but he was unlucky that his opponent, Kurt Rist, added more than him.
