According to the best in the world, El Salvador is already one of the world's longboard capitals

This is what the competitors of the Surf City ISA World Longboard Championship had to say

The ISA World Longboard Championships came back to life last year when El Salvador proposed its waves at El Sunzal as a venue.

Shortly after, it was announced that a stage of the WSL world tour would be held in El Sunzal and then that the ISA world championship would return.

As if that were not enough, this year it was announced that the WSL finals, that is, the event that crowns the league's professional world champion, will also be held in El Sunzal.

An important fact is that the wave par excellence that defined finals and world champions on more than one occasion, Malibu, was the one that was left aside so that the best at the end of the regular season could come to define the world champions.

When asked about it, several of the best longboarders in the world emphasized that El Salvador is not only a capital of longboarding but of surfing in general.

“It’s the perfect wave for longboarding,” said South Africa’s Marishka Myers, and Australian Kirra Molnar echoed her: “It seems like there are always waves here.” Meanwhile, Costa Rica’s Anthony Flores said: “The wave is always amazing.”

Kaitlin Mikkelsen from the United States said it is probably the most visited destination by surfers today.
