After the second day of competition at the Pan American Surf Championship, the Brazilian team is the only one with all its competitors still alive in the event.
There are two categories that went into the water, SUP Surf and Bodyboard and in two genders, therefore the Brazilians have all eight athletes (two per division and gender) still alive in the event.
Eder Luciano and Socrates Santana in Men's Bodyboarding, Maira Viana and Mayla Venturin in Men's Bodyboarding, Leo Gimenez and Luis Diniz in Men's SUP Surfing and Aline Adisaka and Gaby Sztanfater in Women's SUP Surfing.
The other strong teams either lost at least one of their competitors or lost them along the way. Peru came without a SUP Women's competitor, and the Men's Bodyboarding team lost Fabio Saavedra.
Argentina saw Gonzalo Bernardo and Adriana Araujo fall in women's bodyboarding and Chile lost SUP athletes Carla Medel and Ignacio Spencer.
With this, Brazil, out of its 22 surfers that make up a complete team, has all 22 with the possibility of achieving a perfect score.
The semifinals of the women's SUP Surf and the finals of the men's bodyboard events will be determined. The men's SUP Surf is the one with the most competition left to advance, with 24 surfers still in contention.
