Alan Cleland is already on the Gold Coast training for the first challenger of the year

Weeks after securing the QS 3000 in Barbados, the Mexican arrived in time to get to know the wave and is breaking it; watch the video

Weeks after securing his place in the challengers, after finishing third on April 3 at the QS 3000 in Barbados, Mexican Alan Cleland headed straight to the Gold Coast, where the first challenger of the year is taking place.

He showed it himself on his Instagram and was seen well connected with the crowded rights of Snapper Rocks; combining his characteristic powerful movements with the tube sections.

The video was filmed by his father, former pro Alan Cleland, who was the one who decided to go live in the tubes of Mexico and because of him, Alan Cleland Jr. is Mexican.

The Gold Coast tournament will take place between May 7 and May 15. It will be the first of 8 tournaments that will determine who qualifies for CT 2023. These are all the stages:

-Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro presented by Rip Curl: May 7 to 15
-Sydney Surf Pro presented by Rip Curl: May 17 to 24
-Ballito Pro presented by O'Neill: July 3-10
-VANS US Open of Surfing: July 30th to August 7th
-EDP Vissla Pro Ericeira: October 1 to 9
-Quiksilver / ROXY Pro France: October 12-23
-Corona Saquarema Pro presented by Banco do Brasil: November 1 to 8
-Haleiwa Challenger: November 26 to December 7
