Mexican Alan Cleland was invited to the special event that Barton Lynch is organizing with the Natural Selection brand in Micronesia and that will feature some of the best surfers on the planet.

Cleland will join previously announced heavyweights Mikey February, Harry Bryant, Victor Bernardo, Coco Ho, Kirra Pinkerton, Anne Dos Santos, Milla Coco Brown and Noah Beschen, who were previously announced by Natural Selection and Barton Lynch.

The event will take place sometime in January, Lynch said.

For now, Cleland is the only Hispanic American invited to compete in the tournament of eight men and four women who will participate.

Natural Selection is the brand of snowboarder Travis Rice that seems to be getting into the world of surfing through its sponsorship of this tournament.
