Mexican Alan Cleland and Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy placed second in their Round 1 heat in Margaret River, dodging the first bullet in their quest to qualify for the 2026 CT in the second half of the year.

Cleland was superior to the Brazilian Edgard Groggia in a very good series that was defined like this:
