Alan started with victory at Bells

He won for the second consecutive event against Filipe Toledo

Mexican Alan Cleland claimed his second win in a round 1 heat of a 2025 CT event today at Bells Beach in a heat in which he defeated two-time world champion Filipe Toledo for the second consecutive event.

Cleland had won in his debut in his Portugal series and now he achieved it on Bells' point forehands.

The Mexican showed off his powerful, modern surfing at its best, combining powerful turns and radical blow tails to earn a 7 and an 8, leaving Toledo and Joel Vaughan far behind mid-heat.

Now he will wait for his opponent after the elimination round takes place today.

Cleland is currently at 22, in last place for the mid-year cutoff.

He placed ninth in Pipe, 33rd in Abu Dhabi, 17th in Portugal and ninth in El Salvador.

Now in Bells at least a 17 was guaranteed.
