ALAS intends to start its tour in March in the Galapagos.

The stage is not yet confirmed; the tour is expected to continue in April in Mexico

The intention of the Latin American Association of Professional Surfers (ALAS) is to start the Latin tour in March in the Galapagos, Ecuador, the president of the organization, Karín Sierralta, informed DUKE.

The ISA vice president also pointed out that the Galapagos stage is not yet confirmed, and that resources still need to be approved by local authorities. He also pointed out that the intention, due to the pandemic, is for the event to be small, with only open men and open women.

The Argentine surfer, Lucía Indurain, who has already left on her trip, informed DUKE who did so to compete on the aforementioned date, in addition to two QSs that appear on the WSL calendar.

As one of the event organizers had previously told DUKE, Xavier Aguirre, the Galapagos event would no longer be the scheduled QS and would become ALAS. On the league calendar it appeared as March 4-12.

Sierralta said that stage 2 of the circuit, also to be confirmed, is intended to take place in April in Mexico.

Ecuador now also appears with two QS dates, one from March 16 to 21 in Montañita and from March 24 to 28 in Manabí. The full tournament leg would mean that between March 4 and 28 there will be events in the South American country.
