ALAS confirmed event in Puerto Escondido for this year

It will be a six-star tournament and will be held between November 7 and 10.

The Latin American Association of Professional Surfers circuit has just confirmed on its website that for the first time in history it will hold a stage on Zicatela beach in Puerto Escondido between November 7 and 10.

It will be a six-star tournament and will award $30.000 in prizes.

“It is an honor to begin the closing of this historic year with a six-star date on world-class waves, to reward the best of surfing in the Americas,” the statement said.

This year's ALAS has had two dates, one in Reñaca, Chile and another in Barranca, Peru, both with three stars, so the stage in the Mexican Pipe can perfectly shake up the ranking that is now led by the great Chilean junior talent, Noel de la Torre.

According to the website calendar, the tour would close a few days later, between November 13 and 16 with a six-star date in El Salvador on La Bocana beach.
