Albee Layer didn't like not being invited to the Pipe Masters

“I have spent the better part of my 31 years of life giving every fiber of my being to this sport and it still likes to ignore me (along with a few others) at every opportunity it gets,” the Hawaiian wrote, among other things.

Respected big rider and aerialist Albee Layer reflected on his social media about his absence from the guest list at the Pipe Masters that It was released days ago.

“I’ve spent most of my 31 years of life giving every fiber of my being to this sport and it still likes to ignore me (along with a few others) at every opportunity it gets. I never got used to it and never will,” Layer wrote, jokingly mentioning another uninvited player, Torrey Mesiter, by saying, “@torreymeister wanna do a hookipa tournament on the same day?”

One of the first to respond was another respected big rider, Billy Kemper, who told him: “Come and surf before you start another sob story. You still owe Mark Healey a session out there.”

Another who appeared in the story was commentator Chris Coté, who responded jokingly: “Can I comment on Hookipa?”

The Pipe Masters will have a new format this year, with special emphasis on aerials and only a select group of 60 invited surfers and $900.000 in prizes.
