Alejo Muñiz underwent successful surgery
He began his recovery period; "he'll be back in the water soon," said the doctor who operated on him.
Argentine and Brazilian Alejo Muñoz successfully underwent surgery this weekend, he announced on social media, accompanied by his doctor, Guiga Vieira Lima.
The laparoscopic operation resolved a joint injury, and 24 hours after the surgery, everything is progressing well, the doctor said.
Alejo wrote that all the focus now is on recovering in the best way possible.
After competing in JBay, Alejo was visibly in pain with his shoulder. He later announced that he would not be at Teahupoo as he would have to undergo recovery.
The Brazilian and Argentine surfer is already guaranteed a spot at the 2026 CT.
