Spanish surfer Alfonso Suárez won the Galician JQS, which concluded today with good waves breaking in Ferrol.
Suárez scored 16,23 in the grand final to beat his compatriot Dylan Donegan, who scored 14,5, leaving the Portuguese Joao Mendoça (14,2) in third place and Matías Canhoto, also from Portugal (12,6), in fourth place.
The event featured more outstanding Spanish surfers, with young Carla Morera de la Vall finishing second, just three points behind Portuguese María Salgado, who won the stage; 14,83 to 11,73.
Meanwhile, Frenchwoman Clemence Schorsch came third (9,8) and her compatriot Naïa Monte fourth (6,2).
In the women's longboard category, another Spaniard, Julieta Rodríguez Villamil, placed third. She finished ahead of Frenchwoman Ophelie Ah-Kouen and behind champion Ginger Caimi and runner-up Alice Lemoigne (the Frenchwoman took the European title).
The only final in which there were no Spaniards was the men's longboard final, where Portuguese Antonio Dantas won the tournament and the European title.
In second place was Frenchman Thomas Le Breton, third was his compatriot Edouard Delpero, and fourth was also Frenchman Max Jarnet.
He reached the semi-finals of the event and Uruguayan Julián Schweizer finished seventh overall.
