One of the queens of Central America, Santa Catalina breaks two feet of virtually any size, and, of course, breaks everything in between.

Last week it was made official that it will host the Pan American Surfing Games, which will be the event that qualifies the most athletes for Santiago 2023.

In 2010 and 2013, the World Masters Championship and the World Surfing Games were held in Santa Catalina, bringing together some of the best surfers on the planet in the small town.

One thing everyone agrees on is that this wave is world class. Below is a gallery that proves it and shows all its moods: From classic days to small days, always keeping the good spirit.

Halfway through the course, with the right tide, that tube appears as a gift in Santa Catalina. Gato Chila, at the 2013 World Cup, enjoying it.
Another advantage of competing in Santa Catalina: Surfing in paradise with a maximum of three other people.
One of the disadvantages is that tubes like the one in the photo come off on their own, but they make the photo look nice.
One of the aspects that may not be taken into account about the wave is that it is very long.
And also, although it is photogenic and looks "nice", it is a Hawaiian-looking wave... For some reason no one dared to go in that one.
Not in that one either... In fact, it seems that there are two humans who are trying to take it to their heads.
The entrance is a long paddle through the canal, you can reach the peak with dry hair.
For many years, that wave broke on its own. They even say that even on a typical Wednesday, there are not many people surfing it.
And, it is very interesting that Santa Catalina breaks perfectly when it is "small"
Santa Catalina Chico becomes a wave of high performance.
And she looks very nice.
And, blowing and with rain, it also has its long walls.
With good sections for curves like the one in the photo.
Maintaining perfection and length.
This is a classic Santa Catalina with the pipe section smoking.
That's a solid day in Santa Catalina.
If there are few people in the water it is because it is huge.
Giant, tubular and long.
The vision of paradise.
