Alonso Correa will have the most important series of his career tomorrow, Monday, when he faces local Tahitian Kauli Vaast in the semi-finals.

If he wins, he will go to the gold medal match and at least get silver, if he loses he will face the loser between Medina and Jack Robinson.

Since arriving in Tahiti, thanks to the vast experience he had already gained in Hawaii and on the waves in the north of his country, Alonso stood out in the free surfing sessions. He took to the waves and got barrels.

He had to make an adaptation to learn how to ride the Teahupoo foamball, which he did and thus he passed his heats beating three CTs, Kanoa, Filipe and Jordy, and a World Surfing Games qualifier, Reo Inaba.

The sea is expected to be good tomorrow, Monday, and there will be a festival of tubes.

Below, the surfer's journey in photos, from free surfing training sessions to the series in which he advanced through pure maneuvering against the Japanese.

In practice, Alonso already presented himself as a strong candidate for the championship, combining good maneuvers and good tubes.
The Peruvian fans came in a group, with Sol and Lucca and Gabriel Aramburu, Luis Eduardo Escudero and Sebastián Alarcón.

And this was the tube that came next.
Alonso went into the water with Sebastián Alarcón as his caddy in all the series.
Then came this morning with giant waves and the Peruvian did not hesitate to go out and easily beat Jordy Smith. He got 8,5 in one of the waves.
