The results were thanks to Alonso Correa in this round of 32 that defined the 16 best of the last qualifying stage of the Floripa QS 4000 event, making it impossible to remove him from the top 7 that qualifies for CS, according to calculations made by DUKE.

Correa did his part, advanced, and reached the minimum score of 12490 points. But it also worked in his favor that several of his closest rivals lost, leaving only three surfers with a chance to surpass them: Ryan Kainalo, Vitor Ferreira, and Peterson Crisanto.

With the caveat that Cristanto only surpasses him by winning the event and Ferreira by placing second (there is even a chance that they will meet before then).

This means that Correa's worst possible result is seventh place, which would still put him within the qualifying zone. In other words, in the worst-case scenario for Correa, he would drop from 4th to 7th, but still remain in contention.

Yesterday and today's matches favored Alonso because he saw Gabriel Klaussner, Caio Costa, Daniel Templar, Jadson André and Heitor Muller fall.

Cauá Costa and Rickson Falcao can't catch him even if they win the event.

Another fact is that if Alonso finishes third in his round of 16 series, Cristanto will not be able to catch him even if he wins, and he is guaranteed at least sixth place in the ranking.

Correa will now have his chance to fight for a spot on the CT at the Challenger Series events taking place this year in:
