Analí Gómez is the new Latin American surfing champion
All the title contenders lost, including her, but none of the athletes still alive can catch up to the Peruvian.

Peruvian Analí Gómez has been crowned Latin American surfing champion of the ALAS tour, after she and all the other contenders for the women's title lost. None of the six competitors still alive can catch her, according to DUKE's calculations.
By making it to round 2 of the event and finishing third in her heat, Gomez secured 4578. Paloma Santos, the only competitor I still had a chance of catching her if she placed second in the event, was eliminated in the following heat.
This gives Analí Gómez a new title, which adds a new continental cup.
Gómez had won the previous stage in Mexico, fourth in the Barranca stage, discarded his result in Chile and with the ninth in El Salvador he took the title.
