Analí Gómez won in Punta de Lobos

All 1500 points from the Maui and Sons Pichilemu Women's Pro went to Peru

Analí Gómez was unbeatable at the Maui and Sons Pichilemu Women's Pro, QS 1500 that ended today in long, perfect one-meter waves in Punta de Lobos, Chile.

The strength of the lefts accompanied the power surfing of the Peruvian who won in a tight final (13,10 to 12,45) against the defending champion, Leilani McGonagle, who put up a good fight.

In the end, the verticality of a strong off the lip was what made the difference (see video); for this he received 7 points and accompanied it with a 6,1. Meanwhile, McGonagle scored 6,20 and 6,25 on his two best waves.

“I am so happy, I waited a long time to win this great event,” said Gomez after winning. “Leilani had already won it last year and I told her I wasn’t going to make it so easy for her. Thank God, on the last wave I was able to do what was necessary to get the score from the judges,” she added, and concluded: “Now I can!”

With this result, Gomez has 1500 points and will jump from 59th place to the top 50 (the ranking has not been updated yet).
