Release date for Andy Irons movie announced in Peru
Kissed by God will be available on August 23rd on Cineplanet
Uruguay, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica will be the first Latin American countries to have their respective premieres of the documentary Kissed by God, which narrates the life and death of one of the best surfers in history, Andy Irons, in an honest and unbiased way.
The tour was launched in Punta del Este, Uruguay, on Sunday 29th with a benefit for the youth team that will travel to the ISA World Cup in California. The event was held at the Cantegril Country Club with an entrance fee of 200 Uruguayan pesos (7 dollars).
Now it will be Chile's turn with, in principle, two performances on August 14 at the San Ginés theater in Santiago and on November 3 at the Alaia hotel in Punta de Lobos.
Peru will premiere on August 23rd on Cineplanet.
Costa Rica will have two premiere dates in mid-September: one in the capital, San José and the other in the surf city on September 7 in Jacó, Puntarenas. More information will be published in the coming days at Surfing Republic.

Next November marks eight years since Irons' tragic death in a Texas hotel due to an overdose. Teton Films, the producer of Kissed by God, says: “This is a film about bipolar disorder and opioid addiction through the eyes of three-time world champion Andy Irons.”
The film focuses on how Andy became the “people’s champion” and his rise to fame and sporting success, but very few knew about his personal battles, which ultimately ended his life, and at the same time seeks to raise his voice to bring down the myths surrounding bipolar disorder and drug addiction.
Through interviews with his family and friends, the film aims to capture the essence of who Irons was, with stories from his brother Bruce Irons, his wife Lyndie Irons and world surfing stars such as Joel Parkinson, Nathan Fletcher, Sunny Garcia and Kelly Slater.
