How did you decide to start working with this new technology for the Peruvian and South American markets?
I have known and worked with him for 12 years. XTRI know it very well and I know that it is a material that has high performance, that is why as soon as I saw the opportunity to be able to work with it again in Peru I did not hesitate for a minute.

There was a period of five, six years in which it was not available in Peru, and I could only use it when I went to shape in California. In February it arrived in Peru. Javier Huarcaya, who is the developer of XTR And that's where I decided to reincorporate this technology into my brands and now with the new version ¨Parallel Carbon¨, I really like the concept and how it works.

What are the main features and advantages of the XTR Parallel Carbon?
The core is the new foam XTR 8 series, super resistant to impacts, we could say that it is 50% harder than the traditional polyurethane blank, it has well-closed cells and thanks to this we can have ultra-light boards.

The best thing of all is that it is 100% waterproof, which means that if your board has any kind of gap, the blank will not absorb water, so the board will always maintain its weight as if it had just left the factory.

This new construction, called ¨Parallel Carbon¨, It gives us a series of advantages. The "direct drive" that it gives us is the result of the position of the carbons in direct connection with the fins and the "stance" (where the feet are placed) of the surfer. Every time the surfer applies his weight to make a break, this is instantly transferred to the fins through the carbons and as a result we have a board that is lighter to move, with better response to maneuvers and with absolute speed, it is like having a board with a life of its own.

Tell us a little about the three versions of the XTR Parallel Carbon, what are they called and what type of surfer and waves is each one for?
The three versions are the 2.0, 2.5 y 3.0What we do is customize the flex of the board according to the wave conditions in which it will be used and also based on the weight of the surfer. The amount of carbon filaments in combination with the position of the band, give the board a special flex that is related to the surfer and the wave.

Version 2.0 is recommended for those lighter people, with less than 65 kg who want to surf small waves. In this version, seven carbon filaments are placed that go to the top of the fins.

The 2.5 version is for those surfers who weigh between 65kg and 80kg and want to surf small waves or for those lighter surfers, but want to use their board in more powerful wave conditions. In this version, 7 carbon filaments are also used that pass entirely through the fins.

The 3.0 version is for people weighing 80 kilos or more and want to surf small waves or for those lighter surfers, but want to use their board in more powerful wave conditions. In this version, 7-9 carbon filaments are placed that go to the tail of the board.

Is it only good for small waves and beach breaks? Why would you tell someone to buy one of your boards built with this new material?
This material combined with a good shape can give you the best sessions of your life. The new version ¨Parallel Carbon¨ Not only does it allow us to have an incredible board for small wave conditions and beach breaks, but also for those surfers who are looking for a new sensation in classic conditions at a point break, in this case we would use version 3.0 which is developed to withstand bigger and stronger waves.

XTR is a material that gives you greater floatation, therefore, you can generate greater speed and your board feels "more alive". What we mean by this is that you will feel a board with a better response to maneuvers and that will allow you to be more aggressive in your breaks. For all the reasons mentioned above, I recommend you to have one of our boards with this new material.

You posted a photo of Italo Ferreira surfing with a board using this technology. Does the world champion use it? What does he think of it?
