"I'm grateful to have had this opportunity, to show a bit of my surfing at this level and to have been side by side with the best in the world," she said.
Peruvian Arena Rodríguez reflected on her participation in the Rio de Janeiro CT, saying, "This is just the beginning," among other things, in an Instagram post accompanied by photos from the tournament.
He titled it: “Fifth place in the Saquarema CT.”
And she wrote: “I'm proud to have represented my country on this date of the world tour. Grateful to have had this opportunity, to showcase a bit of my surfing at this level, and to have stood shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world.”
He added: “I've never seen so many people supporting and cheering for surfing. It was a stadium, and we were putting on a show. Thanks to everyone who's been supporting me and sending their best vibes from afar these past few days. You could feel the energy, and I appreciate it so much.”
"Special mention to my parents, my family and friends, my team and my sponsors. To Luis Escudero, Gonzalo Noriega, and my mother for supporting me in this experience," he concluded, adding, "This is just the beginning."
Rodriguez will now travel to Ballito, South Africa, where he will be playing between June 30 and July 6.
