Arena Rodriguez and Dylan Donegan finished third in the world championship

Luana Silva and Bronson Meydi are the new world champions

Peru's Arena Rodriguez and Spain's Dylan Donegan finished third in the WSL Junior World Championships that concluded today in La Union, Philippines, the press release said.

Rodríguez was unable to beat the promising Japanese Kana Nakashio, who beat her by 14,43 to 7,4; the Peruvian was unable to repeat her performance from previous series but went home with a good result.

En route to the final Arena defeated Anastasia Venter and Anon Matsuoka in round 1, Jahly Stokes in round of 16 and Sierra Kerr in the quarterfinals.

For his part, Donegan was unable to beat Winter Vincent in the semi-finals, who clocked 17,16 against the Canarian's 11,43. This result comes after having been crowned ISA world champion in the Under 16 category in El Salvador.

Donegan began by falling to the knockout round of the championship, losing to his eventual executioner, Winter Vincent, but beating Macklyn Flynn. In round 2 he beat Brazilian Cauet Frazao, in round 16 he beat the favourite, Jarvis Earle, and in the quarterfinals he beat American Blayr Barton.

The event was won by former CT member Luana Silva of Brazil, 12,23 to 11,67 against Japan's Naka Nakashio.

In the men's event, the young Indonesian Bronson Meyidi won in a tremendous final that was decided by 18,8 to 17,84 against Winter Vincent.
