Arena Rodriguez and Dylan Donegan made it to the semi-finals of the World Youth Championship

The Peruvian eliminated the defending champion Sierra Kerr and the Canary Islander eliminated the American Blayr Barton


Peruvian Arena Rodriguez and Spaniard Dylan Donegan have reached the semifinals of the junior world championships being held in the Philippines, which today defined the last eight competitors of the tournament, the WSL reported in a statement.

Rodriguez had a longer day than Donegan as she began her day in a climb in the round of 16, first passing Australian Jahly Stokes and then the heavy favorite and defending champion, Sierra Kerr.

He won the first series by 13,33 to 9,56 and the second by 12,67 to 11,33.

Arena will now face Kana Nakashio of Japan.

Dylan Donegan, who had already secured his place in the quarterfinals, entered the water once to face Blayr Barton of the United States and beat him by 11,84 to 10.67.

Now, in the semis, he will face the player who had the best performances, the Australian Winter Vincent.

The Basque surfers Kai Odriozola and Annette González Etxebarri, and the Peruvian Catalina Zariquiey, completed their participation.

Zariquiey lost in the round of 16 against Laura Raupp, Odriozola failed in the quarterfinals against Bronson Meidi and Annette González Etxebarri went through Sanoa Olin in the round of 16 but then lost to Luana Silva.
