Argentines Leandro Usuna and Santiago Muñiz won their semi-final matches in the repechage against Costa Ricans Noe Mar McGonagle and Anthony Fillingim respectively and will face each other in the 5th round of the repechage.

This will ensure that one of their countries will face Bryan Perez of El Salvador or Lucca Mesinas of Peru (who are already in the main event final) in the repechage final where bronze is already guaranteed.

For her part, Ornella Pellizzari, also from Argentina, beat local Melanie Giunta in a series that began with an interference that marked the course of the series. They paddled together on a wave, with Pellizzari going deeper, both ended up dropping together and falling.

This took half a point away from Giunta who then failed to achieve the focus in the series that he needed and Pellizzari, on the contrary, added 12,9.

On the other hand, Shelby Detmers of Mexico beat Jessica Anderson of Chile and will now face Pellizzari fighting for a place on the podium that they already know will be occupied by Dominic Barona of Ecuador and Daniella Rosas of Peru who are in the final of the main event.

This is how the sleeves turned out:
Men's Repechage Round 5
Leandro Usuna vs Santiago Muniz

Women's play-off round 5
Ornella Pellizzari vs Shelby Detmers

Main event final, they have escalated to
Bryan Perez vs Lucca Messinas

And to Daniella Rosas vs Dominic Barona

These matches all go into the water tomorrow. The final of the repechage and the grand final will take place on the final day.
