Argentina will host the first South American Adaptive Surfing Championship
The newly formed South American Surfing Confederation launched its first official event
Biología Beach, in Mar del Plata, Argentina, was announced as the venue for the first South American Adaptive Surfing Championship and Meeting, Mar del Plata 2018, which will take place on November 9 and 10 of this year.
Freddy Tórtora, president of the South American Surfing Confederation (Confesurf) and the Argentine Surfing Association, issued the invitation to the event, which he said has the support of the Undersecretary of Tourism of the Province of Buenos Aires. The invitation states that the aim is to invite two competitors per nation, from the different categories of adapted surfing.
The statement said: “The event seeks to enhance the sporting spirit and international cooperation of athletes, coaches and organizations from different South American countries, promoting further development of the discipline in view of the upcoming ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship San Diego 2018.”
