Ariane Ochoa and Jonathan González were runners-up in the Canary Islands QS

The French contingent spoiled the local party; Ado and Larsoneur won

Basque Ariane Ochoa and Canary Islander Jonathan González were runners-up in the QS 1500 which concluded today on Las Américas beach, in Tenerife, Canary Islands.

After five days of events, everything was set for the final day to be a party for the locals but also the former French CT Pauline Ado and the relatively unknown, also French, Gaspard Larsoneur.

The two finals were extremely close, Ado defeated Ochoa by 14,44  at 14,33 and Larsoneur did the same with González by 15,3 to 14,87.

Tied for third place were Nadia Erostarbe and Teresa Bonvalot in the women's category and Thomas Debierre and Lenni Jensen in the men's category.

Peruvian Sol Aguirre, Spaniard Lucía Martino and Canary Islander Luis Díaz also achieved significant results in the tournament, reaching the quarter-finals.

With the 1200 points for second place, Ochoa, who returned to QS last year after spending a year recovering from an injury, moved into the top 20 of the rankings. Meanwhile, González, who is competing in select events, semi-retired, catapulted himself to 62nd place in the rankings.

The women's world tour now continues in Australia with the Sisstrevolution Central Coast Pro, a 3000-point QS that starts on February 19. Among the men, it goes to Fernando de Noronha, Brazil, where the Cacimba do Padre QS 11 will be held from February 16 to 5000.

Relatively unknown Frenchman Gaspard Larsoneur won the stage.
Ariane Ochoa made it clear that she is definitely back and is already in the top 20 of the QS.
