Ariane and Brisa advanced and will meet in the quarterfinals
One of the semi-finalists in the Portuguese challenger will speak in Spanish
Basque surfer Ariane Ochoa and Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy managed, with very good performances, to win their round of 16 and guaranteed their best result of the year in the challenger being played in Ericeira.
Hennessy beat Keala Tomoda by 15,47 to 11,57 and Ochoa beat India Robinson by 14,90 to 14,57.
Both teams are guaranteed at least 5000 ranking points and will face each other in the quarter-finals. The team that advances will be guaranteed a significant 6500 points.
Ochoa is ranked 24th and already has 3500 points from finishing ninth at the US Open and being eliminated from second place at the 2020 Canary Islands tournament.
Meanwhile, Hennessy is fifth, with 6500 from third place in Sydney in 2020 and 1800 from the US Open, which she will surely discard.
