Tia Blanco also said no to Lima 2019
The Puerto Rican chose to be at the US Open. It is presumed that the free spot will be occupied by another Puerto Rican: Jolari Carrera.

Puerto Rican Tia Blanco withdrew from Lima 2019, according to her country's newspaper El Vocero. According to her country's Olympic committee, Blanco chose two QS competitions over participating in Lima.
The two events are the Supergirls Pro and the US Open of Surfing, which take place between July 20 and August 5, the same dates as the continental tournament.
Blanco's withdrawal was made public at the same time as those of Costa Ricans Leilani McGonagle and Brisa Hennessy, who opted for the same path: Going for QS points, despite the fact that Lima 2019 offers a place for a qualifier for Tokyo 2020.
It has not been announced who will take the open spot. If the same criteria as with the rest of the participants are followed, another Puerto Rican should be included: Jolari Carreras.
Other athletes who denied their participation were Summer Macedo and Zoe McDougall.
