The World Surf League has confirmed that its fourth leg of the Australian leg of the world surfing circuit will be held at Strickland Bay, Rottnest Island, Western Australia, achieving its goal of holding four events in the leg after Sunset and Santa Cruz were cancelled.
With this, the four events of the Australian leg are as follows:
-Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona: April 1-11
-Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic presented by Corona: April 16-26
-Boost Mobile Margaret River Pro presented by Corona: May 2-12
-Rip Curl Rottnest Search presented by Corona: May 16-26
The classic Gold Coast and Bells events will not take place this year because the states of Queensland and Victoria did not allow the surfing contingent to enter their state without quarantining or providing them with a bubble in the pandemic situation.
