Australian surfer and musician Jae Haydon dies while surfing in Bali
After several hours the family confirmed that the body found was his.
Australian musician and surfer Jae Haydon died while surfing in Uluwatu, Bali yesterday, his family reported via the GoFundme crowdfunding page.
The missing surfer's board was found on Monday morning and later a body was found, although it was not confirmed whether it was actually his.
Haydon was in Bali a week ago and According to Australian media reports, apparently, with the arrival of a powerful swell in Indonesia, in the middle of a session in Uluwatu, he fell into a wave and then the next one broke on top of him. His board washed up on the coast in pieces but his body was never found.
"To our free-spirited Jae, who traveled the world and lived the life we all dreamed of, who brought so much joy to so many people and who lost his life in Uluwatu today," reads the description of the GoFundme campaign that is raising $50.000 to fly Jae's body from Bali to Australia.
“We love you with all our hearts, Jae, and will miss you so much (…) We cannot thank enough the friends who kept us informed, who searched Bali and kept hope alive. They have shown us how loved he was – even though we already knew,” wrote a relative.
