Before the clash of dates, Brazil traveled to Punta Rocas with three world champions
With the WSL's announcement of the Philippines stage, it is unknown whether this will remain the case.

Three world champions were confirmed to travel as members of the Brazilian surfing team to the ISA World Surfing Games in Punta Rocas in November, a source told DUKE.
It is not known exactly who they were but it is easy to speculate that it was either Gabriel Medina or Yago Dora or Filipe Toledo or Italo Ferreira, three of these four surfers are the Brazilian world champions who are still active (the fifth Brazilian world champion is Adriano de Souza who is now a coach).
With the WSL's decision to place the much-talked-about Philippines date, it is unknown whether this decision, which had been informally communicated to the source by an authority from the Brazilian surfing confederation, changed or not.
A few days after the ISA reported that the WSL CT had gone from having five to eight qualifiers, the WSL announced that it would put a new stage in a new location, moving a QS 6000 in Cloud 9, Philippines to a CT.
The World Surfing Games in Peru will take place from November 6 to 15, and the CT in the Philippines from October 31 to November 10.
The men's and women's champion teams of the World Surfing Games Ω receive a quota for their nation.
In other words, the three men and three women from a country who accumulate the most points will earn a spot in Los Angeles 2028.
The WSL date casts doubt on whether the best Brazilian surfers will be in Punta Rocas.
