Big waves are coming for the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship

Surfline brings forward 10-foot faces for Thursday; El Sunzal will become El Sunzalote

The days of relatively fun waves at El Sunzal will begin to end between tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning, with Thursday being the biggest day, Surfline predicts in its official forecast for the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship.

“10-foot faces” could occur on Thursday, the largest day of the swell that begins to arrive tomorrow, Wednesday, and which will have faces of 4 to 6 feet that will grow to 5 to 8 by the end of the day.

Then, on May 11th the waves will be 6-8' plus, “well overhead in the series, the biggest waves can reach 10 feet in the face.

The wind trend seems to continue, with calm early mornings with gentle offshore winds and midday and early afternoon with gentle onshore winds.

Wave sizes will decrease for the final two days of the event, Friday and Saturday, but will maintain shape and size with faces of 5 to 7 feet on Friday and 4 to 6 on Saturday.
