Brazil guaranteed vaccine for its Olympic athletes

Medina, Ferreira, Weston-Webb and Lima are going to Tokyo protected (if they find time in their schedules to get vaccinated)

The Brazilian Olympic Committee has guaranteed that it will vaccinate its athletes and technical support staff who will travel to the Tokyo Olympics, which will take place between July 23 and August 8, Brazilian website waves.com.br reported today.

This leaves Gabriel Medina, Gabriel Ferreira, Tatiana Weston-Webb and Silvana Lima, already guaranteed to compete in the surfing event at the grand event, with the guarantee that they will receive the vaccine.

The big question this raises is when these surfers will be able to receive the vaccine in Brazil, especially the first three who are in Australia and who will then have to travel directly to El Salvador for the ISA World Championships, from May 29 to June 6.

Only after El Salvador do they have a small gap in their diaries, as the Slater wave pool event will take place on June 26-27, and then, from July 5-15, the Barra de la Cruz championship in Mexico will take place.
