Brazil is in a comfortable position heading into the final day, but the Pan American Games are not over yet.
Mathematically, Peru, Argentina, and Puerto Rico could achieve it with an extremely difficult combination of results.

The Brazilian team will not arrive at the final day with the Pan American Games title already secured in their favor; Peru, Argentina, and Puerto Rico still have a mathematical chance of winning it, according to calculations made by DUKE.
In the worst possible scenario, which would be with a female finalist, with Douglas Silva finishing fifth and the racers being eliminated, that is, if all four score zero points, both the Peruvians and the Argentinians could win.
For Peru, the scenario is more favorable if they manage to get Lucca Mesinas and Daniella Rosas to win in the open category and if the racers finish one-two and one-two; they need the Brazilians to finish in the last places (16th and 17th).
In that case, Peru would win.
On the Argentinian side, in addition to hoping that Peru doesn't do well and achieving victory and silver in the races, they will need two Brazilians to be disqualified from the race and for the other two to finish last.
It's an extremely difficult scenario.
