Brazil won gold and silver in women's bodyboarding

Maylla Venturin and Maira Viana made it one-two for the yellow-green; Beatriz Arleo from Colombia won the bronze and Luz Marie Grande from Puerto Rico, the copper

Brazilian surfers Maylla Venturin and Maira Viana won gold and silver respectively in the women's bodyboard category of the Pan American surfing championship.

Venturin quickly added a 6,17 which she backed up in her third wave with a 6,83 to put herself well ahead of the rest of the group; her compatriot Maira Viana was second with a 10,44.

In third place, with almost half the points, was Colombian Beatriz Arleo, and in fourth was Puerto Rican Luz Marie Grande.

The title is the first that Brazil has won in the entire Pan American Championship.

Peru won a gold in the SUP Race, Puerto Rico another in the SUP Race, Chile won the men's bodyboard and this is the first one for the Brazilians.

There are still medals to be awarded for SUP Surf, Longboard and Shortboard in both genders, that is, six medals to be awarded.
