Brian Toth won the Margara Pro in another edition of tubular bombs
The waves were epic again for the second edition of the new era of the tournament
Puerto Rican local Brian Toth won the second edition of this new era of the Margara Pro presented by Vans and Tres Palmas last Friday and made sure the trophy stayed at home. On a day of epic conditions, the goofy footer found the best tubes and didn't hesitate to go out successfully, one after the other.
In the grand final, 100% Puerto Rican, Rolando Montes placed second, Mauro Díaz third and Ricardo Lucke fourth. Among some of the notable visitors were former CT Chris Ward and skimboarder Brad Domke who put fins on his board, at least during the tournament, and placed seventh.
Then, without keels, he went down some waves which he completed successfully.
Conditions were once again a different story, 10 to 12 solid feet of face, organizers said, all that energy barreling left and right on one of the best waves in Hawaii's Atlantic.
“Thanks to the Municipality of Arecibo, the state and municipal DRD, Corkcicle, Costa Sunglasses, La X 100.7fm, La Regata, PRO, Vista Graphic, Café Tresbe and BBo Presentation for the live broadcast and to many sports heroes such as Natasha Sagardia, Joey Carrión, Werner Vega in the scoring system, we had a Dream Team,” commented Rubén Gómez, organizer of the activity.
