Brisa Hennessy goes for the title of world champion
The only Latina member of the CT spoke with DUKE on IG live from the WSL "quarantine hotel"
Brisa Hennessy spoke to DUKE from the WSL's "quarantine hotel" located in Sydney, Australia.
On day 9 of 14 of mandatory confinement required by the Australian government, the legendary 21-year-old Costa Rican caught up with the large number of Latin and Spanish-speaking listeners who follow her day after day.
The interview touches on key points of his career: It starts with his own historic quarantine and charter flight to Australia, continues with his childhood in Costa Rica, the transition to Hawaii, goes through the decision to change flag to Costa Rica, the controversy that this brought among Ticos especially.
She then addresses her near and not-so-distant plans, such as knowing she is capable of becoming world champion, saying that there is a reason she is there on the tour.
She recalled several Costa Rican surfers, Simón and Pollo from Matapalo were highlighted by her, as well as Cali, Leilani, Noe, Anthony, and at the Latin level she mentioned Sofía Mulanovich, Mimi Barona, Daniella Rosas, among others.
