Brisa Hennessy finished third at Bells and is now sixth in the world

She couldn't beat Johanne Defay in the semis


Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy achieved her third third place of the year in the CT, in four stages contested and with this she rose to sixth position in the world ranking, just one place away from the WSL finals zone.

Hennessy was unable to beat Frenchwoman Johanne Defay in the semi-finals, beating her 13,53 to 12,10.

This is Brisa's third third place in four events; she was third at Pipe, third at Sunset and now third at Bells. In Portugal, stage 3 of the tour, she had to retire after breaking an eardrum in the middle of the competition.

The sixth leaves her less than 1000 points from Bettylou Sakura Johnson, Brisa has 19300 and the Hawaiian 21240.

The next stage will be in Margaret River, Western Australia, between April 11 and 21.
