Brisa Hennessy made it to the quarterfinals in Teahupoo

Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy kept the fight for her place in the top 5 of the WSL rankings after beating Gabriela Bryan with the best tube, best wave and best combined score of the elimination round of the Tahiti Pro.

Everything was going badly for the Costa Rican until, with less than five minutes to go, she found a perfect peak heading west and put in a tube that the judges rewarded with 7 points.

Hennessy had a timid 1,93m back-up and still made the best elimination round series, scoring 8,93m.

These instances being fundamental for her qualification to the grand finals of 2022 on the world tour, the Costa Rican received the good news that contenders Gabriela Bryan, Isabella Nichols and Tyler Wright lost and the bad news that Lakey Peterson, her main adversary, is still alive.
