Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy secured her seventh quarterfinal of the season today in Saquarema, where the Río Pro is being contested.
Four days of waiting were necessary for the event to start, which finally had acceptable waves by Brazilian standards.
Hennessy did not start well, losing to Luana Silva in her debut and having to face Sophia Medina in the elimination round.
In one of the slowest sets of the day, Hennessy managed to find a couple of waves that gave him 8,5, which was well above Medina's 6,6.
Now the Costa Rican will face local sharpshooter Tatiana Weston Webb in the quarterfinals.
This is Brisa's seventh quarter-final in eight stages this season. She suffered an eardrum injury in the only event she did not make it to the quarter-finals (Portugal, stage 3).
