Hennessy is the second highest-paid athlete by the Costa Rican government.
A list revealed a few days ago shows that she earns $2800 a month; the only other surfer on the list is Leilani McGonagle, who receives approximately $800.
The Costa Rican Institute of Sport and Recreation (ICODER) of Costa Rica reported that surfer Brisa Hennessy receives $2800 a month, making her the second highest-paid athlete in the entire country, according to the country's Surfing República website.
Adaptive athlete Sherman Guity is the highest paid, receiving 3444.
The other surfer on the list is Leilani McGonagle, who earns approximately $800 per month.
Separately, a source told DUKE that Hennessy also receives $1000 a month from the country's Olympic committee.
The ICODER list, which was revealed a few weeks ago, indicates that it will distribute a total of approximately $800.000 in scholarships to the country's top athletes.
