Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy managed to reach the quarterfinals of the Bells CT after winning a very tight series against Californian Lakey Peterson.
Hennessy's sharp attack was 0,01 superior to Peterson's, he won with 12,74 versus 12,73; the last wave of the Costa Rican was the one that changed everything; he received 7,07 and needed a 7,06.
Hennessy will now face California rookie Sawyer Lindblad who has just defeated world number 1 Molly Picklum.
“I am very happy to be in the quarterfinals, Bells Beach is a special event for me in many ways. Surfing here and being with everyone is very satisfying,” he said in Spanish.
Brisa is in the second quarterfinal which is expected to go into the water in about two to three hours.
