Brisa said goodbye in ninth place to the Portuguese CT

She couldn't beat Sophie McCulloch; it's the worst result of the year for the Costa Rican

Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy said goodbye early to CT 3, which is being carried out in Portugal.

She was unable to match Australian rookie Sophie McCulloch and finished ninth, her worst result of the season and which will leave her lower than her sixth but still within the qualifying zone for the mid-year cut-off.

Brisa has two fifths and a ninth.

The series against McCulloch started well for the Costa Rican, who quickly added a 3,67 and a 5,17. With eight minutes to go, Brisa dominated the series with priority but the Australian only needed four points to overtake her, she went on a wave in which she did not capitalize and left the door open.

With one minute on the clock, McCulloch's wave came and turned the series around. Brisa surfed a left but the judges didn't give her the score she needed.

The world circuit now continues at Bells Beach and Margaret River with waiting periods from April 4 to 14 and April 20 to 30 respectively.
