Caitlin Simmers is much more than one of the best in the world
Their new edit, Luau Punch, makes it clear: Cool under pressure in Hawaii, The Velvet Underground, Matthew McConaughey and "WSL: Please don't sue me"
On the level of John John and Dane Reynolds, but at 17 years old, the shy one (for WSL interviews, not for surfing) released this edit, made by her, that dazzles.
Not only for its "cool under pressure" surfing in Mecca but also for the small details, that editing with a touch of Wes Anderson mixed with who knows what, depressed music by The Velvet and those funny scenes that have nothing to do with the classic high performance video, a bit laughing at them.
At the end of the video she shares a postcard of herself with Owen Wilson and sends a message, "please WSL, don't sue me," without it being very clear why.
A very nice piece of audiovisual art.
